Create a requisition and parse a JD
Upload a job-spec document or paste the JD — either way it's parsed into structured, weighted skills and a private email intake address.
A requisition is one role you're hiring for: it holds the parsed job description, the skill priorities that drive ranking, and the candidates in play. You need a recruiter workspace first.
Step 1 — Create it
From Requisitions, click New requisition. Two ways in, both fully parsed:
- Upload a job-spec document — the dropzone accepts a PDF, DOCX or TXT job spec. You can leave the title blank; it's read from the document.
- Paste the full JD into the job-description box.
Add the role title and company/client if you have them, then click Create requisition.
What parsing gives you
- Structured JD — requirements and preferred qualifications split out, plus experience level, employment type and location where stated.
- Extracted skills — each skill becomes a weighted row (required skills are tagged req) ready for your 1–5 priority sliders — see weighting and ranking.
- A private intake address — every requisition gets its
own
req-<token>@inbound.a1ergo.techaddress.
The summary strip and Configure drawer
The requisition page opens with a summary strip that always shows what the ranking is based on: how many skills are weighted, JD parsed ✓, and the inbound address with a Copy button. Click Configure to open the Requisition setup drawer — skill sliders, the parsed JD, and the intake address live there.
Email intake: forward candidates in
The drawer's "Forward candidate emails here" card explains the intake flow: forward (or BCC) a candidate's email to the requisition's address and the CV attachment lands in this requisition, parsed and ranked automatically. No manual upload step.
Other ways candidates arrive
- Bulk upload — the candidates area has a Bulk upload candidate CVs page with an Upload & parse action.
- Claiming a verified pack — a candidate-shared pack can create the whole requisition for you, parsed job and skill weights included.
Lifecycle
The manage menu on the requisition header covers Edit requisition, Mark filled, Close / archive and Reopen (all reversible), and a permanent Delete requisition that only an Owner can use.
